Turkish player shouted 'Freedom for Palestine' and wished death to Israeli footballers after the match.
UEFA is investigating a case of insulting Tel Aviv «Maccabi» players after the Europa League match against Danish «Midtjylland» in early October.
The Tel Aviv «Maccabi» players complain about the Turkish player of «Midtjylland», Aral Simsek. They claim he shouted offensive words towards them about «Freedom for Palestine» and death wishes.
UEFA has appointed an inspector for the investigation. As a result, UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Simsek.
Post-match, there was a dispute between Simsek and several «Maccabi» players. The Tel Aviv club believes it occurred due to words from the Turkish player.
UEFA notes that Simsek is accused of breaching principles of conduct, using a sports event to display unsporting behavior.
«Midtjylland» responds that they cannot accept the interpretation of events coming from «Maccabi».
Incidents in judo and football
The judo tournament in the under-65 kg weight category ended in scandal. Tajik judoka Emomali was angered by his opponent and shouted «Allahu Akbar». Previously, his opponent from Morocco also refused a handshake greeting.
In football, the players of «Maccabi» and «Midtjylland» found themselves in serious conflict due to offensive words and behavioral issues.
Defeat of «Dynamo» and the «Roma» match
The Kiev «Dynamo» suffered its third defeat in the Europa League, losing to «Roma» with a score of 0:1. Both teams have yet to win in European competitions, but «Roma» managed to gain at least one point.
«Dynamo»'s starting lineup included a goalkeeper, defenders, and midfielders. The «Roma» lineup featured a national forward from Ukraine, who scored the only goal of the match.
In the first half, «Roma» opened the score with a penalty converted by Artem Dovbyk. The guest team later scored, but the goal was disallowed. «Dynamo» also had its chances but failed to equalize.
In the second half, Dovbyk was replaced by Shomurodov. The next match for Kiev will be against «Ferencváros» on November 7.
