Pensions will increase by 11.5% in March 2026: who will receive an increase and by how much.
According to ТСН: The Cabinet has made a new decision regarding the indexing of pensions
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided on another indexing of pensions that will affect most Ukrainian pensioners. The increase is scheduled for March 1, 2026, and the average amount of payments will rise by 11.5%.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the final amount of indexing will only be known in February 2026 when the final statistical data is published.
Expected changes in pension payments
It is expected that after indexing the average pension will amount to approximately 6,345 hryvnias, while currently, it stands at 5,789 hryvnias. The minimum increase will be 100 hryvnias, and the maximum will reach 1,500 hryvnias.
This recalculation will affect pensions granted in accordance with Ukrainian laws on mandatory state pension insurance, public service, scientific activity, as well as pensions for military personnel and those affected by the Chernobyl disaster. In addition, minimum payments will be increased for combatants and persons with disabilities due to war.
It is worth noting that in 2026, some Ukrainian pensioners may have restrictions placed on the amount of monthly payments. This will only apply to those whose pensions exceed the maximum limit set by law.
These changes in the pension system in Ukraine are significant for many citizens, as they are intended to improve the welfare of pensioners during difficult times. Planned indexations indicate the government's commitment to preserving the purchasing power of pensions in the face of inflation and economic challenges.
