Kallas on the Orizhnik strike on Lviv: this is Putin's message to Europe.
According to ТСН: The Russian attack with the Orizhnik missiles has become a new stage in the escalation of the conflict with Ukraine. The main goal of this attack on Lviv is to warn Europe and the USA.
This was reported by Kaja Kallas, head of European diplomacy, on the X network.
According to her, the Russian strikes indicate Moscow's unwillingness to end the war. She also called for the implementation of tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation.
“Putin does not want peace, Russia's response to diplomatic efforts is more missiles and destruction. This deadly pattern of repeated large-scale Russian strikes will continue until we help Ukraine break it,” wrote the diplomat.
Furthermore, Kallas urged EU countries to “review their stockpiles of air defense systems” and urgently transfer them to Ukraine.
Radio technology expert Sergei Beskrestnov believes that the nighttime strike with the Orizhnik missile was more of a political and psychological nature than of strategic military significance. He noted that “it was a message addressed to Europe,” which is why they chose a western city in Ukraine for the attack.
Thus, the Russian strikes confirm the growing tension in relations with the Western world. European countries face new security challenges and are obliged to respond more quickly to threats in order to support Ukraine during this difficult time.
