Fraudsters created a fake app 'Diya': how in Kharkiv they stole through fake websites.
According to inkorr.com: A case of fraud has been recorded in Kharkiv, where criminals used a fake 'Diya' app to deceive people. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Fraud Scheme
Two young individuals, aged 21 and 22, are suspected of fraud. They created an advertisement on Facebook promising state support. The victim was prompted to follow a link to a counterfeit 'Diya' website, where they needed to enter their personal information. This allowed the criminals to gain access to bank accounts.
The scheme worked like this: when people clicked on the ad banner, they landed on a fake website that imitated the official 'Diya' portal. On this site, a window appeared that looked like a banking app interface and aroused no suspicion in the visitors.
Security Measures
Currently, law enforcement is determining the number of victims. The suspects face imprisonment, so prosecutors urge citizens to be cautious and avoid dubious links.
Social media users are advised to verify the authenticity of websites and not to enter personal information on untrustworthy resources.
This case indicates a rise in online fraud, so everyone should be careful in their online actions. To avoid similar situations, it is important to thoroughly verify information sources and be aware of one's actions in the digital space.
