In Khmelnytskyi, a 16-year-old spy was sentenced: why she received 5 years.
According to ТСН: A 16-year-old girl was sentenced in Khmelnytskyi, who, according to the investigation, transferred information about military facilities to a Russian spy for 3,802 hryvnias. She admitted her guilt.
This information was made public in the court's ruling.
According to the investigation, in June 2025, the girl began communicating via Telegram with a military officer from the Information Operations Center of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who offered her a part-time job, which she accepted.
Tasks that the girl performed
According to the verdict, the girl performed the following tasks:
On July 28, 2025, she filmed the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, for which she received 949 hryvnias on her card.
On August 1, 2025, she carried out video recording of the military unit of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for which she received 501 hryvnias.
On August 6, 2025, she conducted video filming of the regional TCC and SP, for which she received 902 hryvnias.
On August 11, 2025, she recorded a section of the railway through which trains carrying military cargo were moving, for which she received 1,450 hryvnias.
On August 14, 2025, she set up a video camera near the railway track connected to a power bank, allowing the Russian military to monitor the movement of trains with military cargo online. For the purchase of technical equipment, she received 3,495 hryvnias.
She faced imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years. However, according to the verdict, she entered into a plea agreement.
As a result, she was sentenced to five years of imprisonment, which was converted to two years of probation. She was released in the courtroom.
It should be noted that in Kyiv, a young man was also detained for transferring information about the location of military units and thermal power plants to a representative of the Russian Federation.
This case has caused a wide resonance, as it confirms that even at a young age, one can find oneself in a situation where ideological beliefs and money take center stage. As the war continues, it is important to remember about information security and to be cautious in one’s actions to avoid becoming a part of dangerous games.
