Heat Restored to Kyiv Apartment Blocks Following Shelling: 16 Buildings Reconnected in 24 Hours.
Kyiv's Heating System Undergoes Repairs
According to Novyny.live: Repair crews are working to restore central heating to apartment buildings in Kyiv after a mass shelling attack on January 9. In the last 24 hours, heat has been returned to 16 buildings, reducing the overall number of affected properties. Currently, repairs are ongoing at 143 buildings, though 30 multi-story blocks remain without heating. These efforts are critical as winter temperatures pose a serious threat to infrastructure and residents.
Eighteen additional repair teams have been deployed to work on the heating supply. As of yesterday, 46 buildings were without heat, but workers managed to restore service to 16 of them. Specifically, 10 teams were provided by 'Ukrzaliznytsia' (Ukrainian Railways), with 4 teams each coming from the towns of Fastiv and Obukhiv.
Future Restoration Plans
Starting tomorrow, an additional 20 teams from 'Ukrzaliznytsia' and crews from the Rivne region are scheduled to begin work. These coordinated efforts aim to rapidly restore Kyiv's heating supply, which is vital for the city's residents during the current cold spell. The scale of this mobilization highlights the severity of the damage caused by the attacks.

The primary goal of the repair teams is to return heat to homes as quickly as possible, given the harsh weather and the dangerous consequences of being without heating. Effective coordination between teams from different regions of Ukraine is helping to accelerate the recovery process, which is essential for maintaining stability in the city.
