In Kyiv, police detained two foreigners for publicly displaying Nazi symbols in the Pechersk district of the city. The incident gained widespread attention after photographs surfaced online of one of the men holding a flag with a swastika and wearing a t-shirt with prohibited symbols of a totalitarian regime.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.After monitoring the Internet, law enforcement identified the 27-year-old offender and found out that he was on the street with a 25-year-old citizen of another country, who also wore clothing with similar symbols. Both men were detained under part 1 of article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the search of their apartment, t-shirts, a flag, and an armband with Nazi elements were found.

Photo: National Police of Ukraine'A criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding this fact under part 1 of article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the production and distribution of communist and Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes. The sanction of the article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property', the police reported. It should be reminded that yesterday the police responded to an incident in the Pechersk district, where an unknown person displayed a flag with Nazi symbols. Today, the police initiated an investigation into a shooting in the Desnyansky district, where a man was found dead in a car. While patrolling Kyiv, police officers found two foreigners displaying Nazi symbols. They were detained, and objects with prohibited symbols were seized from their apartment. They now face up to five years in prison with confiscation of property for the production and dissemination of Nazi symbols.
