Attack on the Chief Designer in Russia
An attack occurred in Kurgan on the chief designer of the defense plant 'Kurganpribor', Andriy Kondratiev. This was reported by 'Glavcom', citing Russian media.
The attack happened in the evening of May 22 - an unknown assailant struck the employee of the enterprise multiple times on the head with a hammer as he was entering the entrance of his house. The attacker fled, and the victim was hospitalized.
The investigation connects the incident with Kondratiev's activities. The official is referred to as a 'key figure' at 'Kurganpribor' since he is the deputy CEO and a 'protégé' of the chairperson of the board of directors of the company, senator Serhiy Muratov.
The 'Kurganpribor' enterprise produces a wide range of products for the defense industry. The enterprise is under sanctions from the USA, the European Union, and other Western countries.
Previous Incidents
The former deputy head of the Administration of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, advisor to the fugitive president Andriy Portnov, was shot near Madrid. He was considered one of the key architects of judicial reform and had significant influence on the judicial system. After the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, he left Ukraine. Criminal cases were opened against him, but later most of them were closed or unproven.
Today, May 1, there was an armed attack on volunteer and activist Serhiy Sternenko. The attacker was promptly apprehended.
In Mexico City, unknown assailants shot two high-ranking officials from Mayor Clara Brugada's team. Armed individuals ambushed them.
This failed attack on the chief designer of the defense plant 'Kurganpribor' demonstrates the complexity of the situation in various countries where key officials and activists are becoming targets of aggression and crimes. It is frightening that such incidents are increasingly becoming a part of everyday life and pose a threat to the personal safety of citizens.
