According to Espreso.tv: This survey, conducted over several years, reveals how the ongoing conflict has reshaped the priorities and professional lives of women in Ukraine.

Career Opportunities and Support for Women

The research uncovered the following:

  • 34% of female respondents obtained new career opportunities despite lacking sufficient experience;
  • 28% of women reported that recommendations helped them advance professionally;
  • Another 28% indicated they achieved career success solely through their own efforts.

Despite these positive developments, 62% of women who faced inappropriate treatment at work did not report it to management, reflecting a decline in trust toward support institutions.

This study highlights that, despite the hardships Ukrainian women endure during wartime, their willingness to adapt and pursue professional growth remains high.

According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Health, as of January 29, over 860 primary healthcare facilities across the country now offer free mental health services. This resource could be vital for women navigating the challenges of war and workplace demands.

Adaptation of Ukrainian Women to War Conditions

A joint survey by Gradus Research and the nonprofit organization Pislyazavtra found that Ukrainian women have adjusted to wartime conditions but have not fully recovered psychologically. The readiness to take on additional responsibilities rose from 50% in 2024 to 55% in 2026, indicating a strong drive to remain professionally active despite difficult circumstances.

The survey was conducted between 2023 and 2026 among residents of Ukrainian cities with populations exceeding 50,000. The final wave included 2,000 respondents. The data also showed that 39% of participants now value stability over career growth—a shift that underscores how safety and predictability become priorities during war.
