Central Lviv Traffic Blocked After Suspicious Bag Found: Detours and Route Changes.
Traffic Restrictions Imposed in Lviv
According to Novyny.live: On March 25, authorities partially halted vehicle movement in downtown Lviv after a suspicious bag was discovered at the 'Pidkovy Square' stop on Svobody Avenue. Law enforcement personnel are currently on site, investigating the situation.
The affected section of Svobody Avenue, stretching from the Taras Shevchenko monument towards the Opera House, has been closed off. As a result, trolleybus No. 33 is temporarily operating on a modified route from Hrinchenka Street to the Forum Lviv shopping center. Buses No. 9, No. 21, and No. 48 are bypassing the cordoned area via Pidvalna Street.
Recent Tragic Events in Lviv
This incident follows a series of explosions that shook the city on February 22. Those blasts claimed the lives of 23-year-old police officer Viktoriya Shpylka and 31-year-old serviceman Yosyp Pavlynsky. Investigators have identified a 33-year-old woman from the Rivne region as the perpetrator who planted the explosives. The court has ordered her pretrial detention until April 22.
Authorities are continuing their investigations into both cases, striving to ensure public safety across the city.
The discovery of the suspicious bag in central Lviv has sparked concern among residents and visitors, especially given the recent tragic explosions. This situation underscores the critical need for law enforcement to remain vigilant and ready to respond to potential security threats. While the traffic restrictions are a necessary precaution during the probe, they are also disrupting daily routines for many in the city.
