According to UATV: On July 26, Russian forces targeted Kharkiv using a drone-missile known as the 'Banderol'. The attack completely destroyed a private home and damaged over 20 nearby houses. One woman was killed, her son was wounded, and at least 16 other people sustained injuries. The deceased was originally from the city of Vovchansk.

"You see the consequences," said Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Witnesses recounted harrowing moments after the explosion. Viktoriya, a local resident, described her reaction: "I started screaming: 'Call an ambulance, call all the services!'" Another witness, Serhey, gave a detailed account of the strike: "The entrance was here, then to the right, and you know... The rocket hit the house directly."

This incident is part of the ongoing Russian military campaign in Ukraine, which has frequently put civilian areas in Kharkiv under fire. Rescue services are working to manage the aftermath, while the injured remain in serious condition. The tragedy underscores the continued threats faced by the civilian population, despite efforts by local authorities to respond swiftly.
