Lviv Hosts the ‘I CAN’ Conference
According to Novyny.live: Held ahead of World Autism Awareness Day, the fourth annual ‘I CAN’ conference on comprehensive support for children on the autism spectrum took place in Lviv. The event brought together therapists, educators, and parents of children with autism, highlighting the global significance of autism-related discussions.
Organized with support from the Future for Ukraine charity foundation and the LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB center—which opened in Lviv to serve children with autism—the conference focused on behavioral therapy as a cornerstone of autism support. In 2025, a similar center was also established in Mykolaiv.
Sharing Insights and Experience
Anastasiya Malykh, attending the conference for the fourth time, shared her enthusiasm:
“I truly love this conference; it’s incredibly valuable for parents, professionals, and anyone concerned about childhood autism.”
Participants discussed key aspects of supporting children on the autism spectrum, including:
- recognizing behavioral therapy as a first-line treatment,
- exploring the latest methods for autism support.
Anna Kushnir reinforced this point:
“This is a key need for children—it’s the first line of therapy.”
The conference served as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and experience, helping to develop effective strategies for supporting children with autism and their families.
The ‘I CAN’ conference underscores the growing attention to autism in Ukraine and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to therapy and support. Given that autism is a global challenge, such events not only raise awareness but also drive the adoption of cutting-edge methods, potentially improving the quality of life for children and their families.
