In Friedland, an Iraqi refugee killed a Ukrainian woman: details of the horrific crime.
According to inkorr.com: A terrible tragedy occurred in Friedland, shocking the Ukrainian community in Europe. A 31-year-old citizen of Iraq murdered a 16-year-old girl from Mariupol, throwing her under a freight train.
According to Stern, initially, the German police considered this incident an accident. However, the investigation revealed that it was a murder. The perpetrator attempted to cover up his crime, but the results of the analyses and eyewitness testimonies uncovered the truth about this horrific case.
DNA analysis and eyewitness testimonies unequivocally confirmed: this was a deliberate murder. The deceased showed signs of severe compression on her shoulders, and the suspect was found to have 1.35 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
A critically important moment is that during the attack, the girl was on the phone with her grandfather, who heard her scream—the last sound that came from her lips.
Health issues of the murderer
According to Stern, the murderer was diagnosed with 'paranoid schizophrenia' and is under surveillance in a psychiatric hospital. The man tried to seek asylum in Germany but was denied and even deported to Lithuania; however, he returned to Germany.
It is also worth noting that there was no connection between the victim and the murderer. The deceased's family are refugees from Mariupol who sought protection in Europe from Russian aggression.
The municipality of Friedland declared a deep mourning. The Ukrainian diaspora in Germany is organizing a fundraising campaign for the girl's burial and has already managed to collect over 24 thousand euros.
This tragedy not only caused a great resonance among Ukrainians in Europe but also highlighted the need for a more refined approach to granting asylum to individuals with mental illnesses. Its consequences will remain in the memory of many, and support for the Ukrainian community becomes even more important in this difficult time.
