The capital of France is preparing to host the Olympics, the main sporting forum. The next 16 days will be filled with sporting events and emotions.

The opening ceremony of the competitions took place, which will be remembered as one of the most record-breaking in history. The start of the Olympics became the largest in terms of the number of spectators and geographical coverage.

The beginning of the event was accompanied by a video with French footballer and coach Zinedine Zidane, who carried the Olympic torch and handed one of the traditional symbols to young athletes in the subway.

The ceremony took place at several famous locations, including the Seine River, the stadium, the Austerlitz Bridge, Trocadero - the esplanade opposite the Eiffel Tower. The ceremony included 12 parts, each of which ended with a musical performance. Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Aya Nakamura performed. Despite the unfavorable weather, a wonderful atmosphere was created and the event was given scale.

The first Ukrainians to compete were footballers and archers. The football team lost to Iraq (1:2), and the archers failed to qualify for the tournament.

The first medals will be contested tomorrow. Fencers, divers, judokas, cyclists, skateboarders, swimmers, and rugby players will compete for them. On July 27, Ukraine will attempt to win medals in the first four sports. The 2024 Olympic Games will end on August 11.

Ukrainian athletes have been warned about their behavior with neutral athletes from Russia and Belarus. In the Olympic Village, they are not informed of all the details of the opening ceremony for safety reasons.

Ukraine will be represented at the Olympics in almost all sports except for team sports. The football team will participate in the Games for the first Time.
