Poland Proposes Minimum Wage Hike for 2027: What the New Rates Could Look Like.
Poland Gears Up for 2027 Minimum Wage Adjustments
According to Novyny.live: Poland is moving forward with plans to set new minimum wage levels for 2027. The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has put forward a proposal to raise the monthly minimum wage to 4,986 PLN gross, with an hourly rate of 32.60 PLN gross. This would represent an increase of 180 PLN per month and 1.20 PLN per hour compared to the current figures—4,806 PLN gross monthly and 31.40 PLN gross hourly. For context, Poland's minimum wage is reviewed annually and applies to roughly 3 million workers across the country.
Outlook and Stakeholder Proposals
By 2027, Poland's average salary could reach 9,970 PLN gross. A final decision on the minimum wage must be made by September 15. Labour unions are pushing for a more aggressive increase to 5,200 PLN gross, while employer representatives argue for a figure between 4,860 and 4,975 PLN gross. Currently, around 3 million people in Poland earn the minimum wage.
These adjustments could have a meaningful impact on the financial well-being of many low-income workers, as even modest raises can improve their economic situation. Setting new minimum wage levels is a critical step for the country's economic growth and social safety net. Given that roughly 3 million people depend on this decision, the outcome of the negotiations could carry significant consequences for social stability in Poland.
