Russian rocket with purple smoke exploded over the Yasny polygon: details.
According to ТСН: In Russia, at the "Yasny" polygon near Orenburg, a rocket exploded, resulting in a "mushroom" of purple smoke rising into the sky. This was reported by the Telegram channel Exilenova+ and other sources.
"Strange things were happening today over the 'Yasny' polygon near Orenburg. Purple smoke rose, likely after the rocket exploded. There are suggestions that the launch had issues, and the rocket exploded in the air," the channel's message says.
Other sources add that during the tests, the rocket exploded in the air, creating a bright cloud that frightened witnesses watching the launch.
Local authorities assured that there is no threat to the population and evacuation is not planned.
The monitoring group of the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind" noted that the rocket was launched from the Orenburg region towards the "Kura" polygon in Kamchatka.
Possible rocket and its specifications
This was a rocket using liquid fuel, heptyl. Perhaps it is the R36UTTH2 "Satan", also known as "Dnieper". These rockets are 30-40 years old. It is possible that it concerns an analogue that, according to rumors, the Russians are trying to create.
"It seems that after leaving the silo (the silo launch facility — editor), the launch of the main engine did not occur. Therefore, this barrel fell apart; the components of the NGIMD/AT, judging by the rusty trail, self-ignite when mixed. Or it could have been something older, like the Chelomey UR-100 rocket," the message on the Telegram channel states.
Location of military facilities
In the Orenburg region, in the city of Yasny, there is a cosmodrome and a base for missile troops. This is one of the few points in Russia from where the enemy can launch long-range rockets, including those that may be armed with nuclear warheads.
It is also important to note that on the night of November 28, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of facilities in Russia. The General Staff of the Armed Forces confirmed that the Saratov oil refinery was hit, a hangar for enemy drones "Orion" and "Forepost" was destroyed at the "Saki" airfield (occupied Crimea), as well as the command and dispatch point, "KamAZ", areas of concentration of troops and fuel depots in the occupied parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
These events underline the tense situation in the region and raise new questions about the state of Russia's missile systems. During military tests, such incidents can have serious consequences for the safety of surrounding areas. Observers continue to monitor developments, as they may influence the overall context of the conflict in the region.
