In Russia, law enforcement officers charged the head of the SBU Malyuk with a new accusation.
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, was accused by Russian law enforcement officers of involvement in the attack on the Crimean Bridge in 2023. This information was made public by TASS with reference to Russian investigators.
Malyuk is accused of «organizing a terrorist attack». Previously, in May, Russia accused the head of the SBU of blowing up the Crimean Bridge, but this incident occurred in 2022.
As part of this case, Russia accuses not only Malyuk, who was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list, but also citizens of Russia, Armenia, and Ukraine. The National Bureau of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine considers the Russian investigation «manipulative and senseless» from a legal point of view.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Deputy Head of the President's Office, Oleh Tatarov, and the current head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, «killed citizens of Chechnya in Kyiv» at the beginning of the invasion.
In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a network of FSB agents preparing the assassination of Ukrainian high-ranking officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, head of the SBU Vasyl Malyuk, and head of the GUR Kyrylo Budanov.
