Maksym Rylskiy, as it turned out, knew not only how to create poems but also how to 'tame' his KGB supervisor, confirming this with regular fishing trips and friendly gatherings. His unique ability to connect even with such people was explained by the poet through ironic comments and jokes.
'Grandfather mentioned that Mykola Kuzmych and had a photo with him... 'Well, he is quite a chatterbox,' grandfather would say, 'but he is an excellent fisherman.' So he invited him multiple times for fishing. And he was happy—he shared jokes, told tales...,' shares the reminiscences of the grandson.
The testimony of historian Ihor Hyrych emphasizes that Maksym Rylskiy, despite the conditions of the Soviet regime, knew how to find ways to survive and overcome difficulties without losing his dignity and humanitarian values.
The poet's unique attitude towards life and ability to find common ground even with KGB supervisors indicate his extraordinary talent for interpersonal relationships with those around him.
