Ukrainian-Polish Historical Disputes. The Ambassador Explained How the Problem Should Be Resolved.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, believes that Ukrainians are only portrayed in a simplified light as murderers, while Poles are depicted only as victims. However, in his opinion, the Polish side is not innocent either, as many crimes against the Ukrainian population have been committed.
In a simplified sense, Ukrainians are only portrayed as murderers and Poles – only as victims. In reality, there are also many crimes committed by Poles against the Ukrainian population both in the territory of the Second Polish Republic, which today is part of Ukraine, and in the current territory of Poland.
Bodnar also pointed out that the reaction to the publication of the Sejm's law establishing the National Remembrance Day of Poles was swift when false information spread about the cessation of exhumation work in Puzhnyky.
Association Against Propaganda
According to the Ambassador, Ukrainians and Poles have united against Russian propaganda, which has used deepfakes to spread disinformation. Exhumation work resumed after the reaction of the Ukrainian and Polish governments to this scandal.
Bodnar called for proper communication and joint efforts to address historical issues in bilateral relations, emphasizing that this directs attention to cooperation in other areas.
Communication between Ukrainians and Poles is becoming increasingly important in the fight against propaganda and the uncovering of historical truths. The united efforts of both nations in this area require a joint response to attempts to falsify or distort history, which promotes cooperation not only in this area but also in many others.Read also
