In Warsaw, attackers who brutally beat Ukrainians were detained: details of the crime.
According to inkorr.com: In the capital of Poland, Warsaw, three Ukrainians became victims of a brutal attack because of their nationality, reports 'Khvylia' citing data from Raport Warszawski.
Details of the attack
According to the police, the incident happened in the evening near a shopping center in the Bialoleka district. A group of unknown men attacked the Ukrainians, insulted them because of their nationality, and inflicted bodily harm. Fortunately, a woman nearby was able to record the event on video and call for emergency assistance.
An investigative group arrived at the scene, took witness statements, collected evidence, and composed descriptions of the perpetrators. One of the Ukrainians sustained injuries and required medical assistance.
Detention of the suspects
The next day, the police detained three suspects: a 41-year-old man and two younger ones, aged 28 and 36. One of them was found to have drugs. All detainees will face charges related to assault and nationalist insults.
The court placed the suspects under police surveillance and prohibited any contact with the victims and among themselves. For an attack with nationalist motives, a sentence of up to five years in prison may be imposed.
Nationalistic background cases
The authorities emphasize that the attack has a nationalistic subtext. Earlier, there were reports of mass deportations of Ukrainians from Poland.
Such brutal attacks, like this one, indicate a rise in nationalist sentiments in Poland and may lead to an escalation of interethnic relations. The situation raises concerns among the Ukrainian community as it threatens their safety and rights in a foreign country.
