The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that as a result of Israel's strike on Beirut on Tuesday, a woman and two children were killed, and 68 people were injured.

According to AP and Times of Israel, a hospital near the explosion site called for people to donate blood.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the strike was carried out by a drone that launched three missiles.

Hezbollah's official representative Ali Ammar stated that Israel hit a "completely civilian area" and that "sooner or later the Israeli enemy will pay for this."

The interim Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, condemned the Israeli attack, stating that it occurred a few meters from one of the capital's largest hospitals.

The airstrike on the southern Beirut suburb of Harat-Hreik - a densely populated urban area where Hezbollah holds political meetings, but which is also full of small shops and residential buildings - damaged several buildings.

According to a Hezbollah official representative, it is not yet known if any members of the group were affected. A Lebanese military intelligence officer commented to the agency that he has no information on whether the senior security official of Hezbollah escaped the airstrike.

According to AP, the strike hit a residential building near a hospital, causing half of the building to be destroyed and the neighboring building to be seriously damaged. The hospital sustained minor damage, and the surrounding streets were littered with debris and broken glass.

The Israel Defense Forces stated that Hezbollah's Supreme Commander Fuad Shukr was killed during the Israeli airstrike on Beirut.

A statement from the IDF said that Shukr, also known as Haj Mohsen, is Hezbollah's highest military commander.

Shukr was a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah's highest military body, and was considered the head of its strategic unit.

The IDF claims that he was also a senior military advisor to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, describing him as "the right hand."
