Konotop Strike Claims Life of Ukrainian Railways Employee, Leaves Four Wounded.
Deadly Attack on Konotop
According to UATV: On June 11, the Russian military targeted the city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast. The assault killed a female employee of the state-owned railway company Ukrzaliznytsia and injured four other individuals. Among the wounded, cases of severe burns and barotrauma have been reported.
The attack was carried out using Shahed-type kamikaze drones. One of these unmanned aerial vehicles detonated near a railway depot, causing significant damage to the city’s infrastructure. Oleksandr Pertsovskyi confirmed that
“a company employee lost her life as a result of the strike.”
Impact on the City
The bombardment left Konotop without running water and electricity. Gas supply has also been partially cut off, compounding the hardships faced by local residents. Anton Semenykhin stated that
“the strikes have left the city without water and power.”Restoration efforts are currently underway.
This incident highlights the escalating conflict in Ukraine and its devastating toll on civilians. The loss of essential utilities in Konotop adds to the daily struggles of people already enduring the war’s effects.
