Meat Processing Plant 'Yuvileinyi' Hit in Zaporizhzhia

According to Novyny.live: On July 1 at approximately 7:30 PM, Russian forces launched an attack on the 'Yuvileinyi' meat processing plant in Zaporizhzhia. The strike caused extensive damage to production facilities, warehouses, and office infrastructure, forcing the company to temporarily suspend operations. This incident is part of ongoing hostilities in the region, where civilian infrastructure continues to suffer.

A company representative stated,

“We were between shifts: the day crew had already left the site, and the night crew had not yet arrived. Thank God, only security personnel were present, and no one was injured.”
This confirms that no workers were on the premises at the time of the strike.

Emergency units from the State Emergency Service and police quickly arrived to secure the area and launch an investigation. The representative added,

“Warehouses, office spaces—everything that enabled us to operate has been damaged. We will now focus on clearing debris, but unfortunately, we are ceasing our activities for an indefinite period.”

Broader Impact on Zaporizhzhia

Official data indicates that one in three apartment buildings in Zaporizhzhia has been damaged due to shelling, highlighting the severe toll of ongoing military actions in the region. This attack on a civilian enterprise not only disrupts the local economy but also compounds hardships for residents already enduring the war's consequences. Each strike underscores the urgent need for continued international support for Ukraine and a push toward restoring peace in the area.
