Russian Strikes Hit Hospital and Gas Station in Southern and Northern Ukraine.
Civilian Infrastructure Under Attack in Ukraine
According to UATV: Recent assaults by Russian forces have targeted civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, with a hospital in Kherson and a gas station in Sumy coming under fire. In Kherson, a drone strike hit a medical facility, injuring five staff members. Among them, a 62-year-old woman sustained a concussion and traumatic brain injuries.
In Sumy, four people were wounded in an attack on a gas station. The strike sparked a fire, leading to the hospitalization of two employees. A married couple who were nearby at the time also suffered injuries. Throughout June, the region has experienced 13 attacks on gas stations, indicating a deliberate campaign by the enemy.
Oleh Hryhorov stated: 'For a year now, the enemy has relentlessly attempted to systematically destroy gas stations in the region.'
These incidents have sparked serious public concern, as strikes on civilian sites endanger lives and disrupt essential services. The pattern of attacks highlights the ongoing threat to non-military targets in the conflict.
Impact on Civilians
Targeting civilian infrastructure like hospitals and gas stations underscores the mounting risks for Ukraine’s population, who bear the brunt of the war’s consequences. Repeated strikes on such facilities not only cause physical harm but also impose psychological strain on citizens striving to maintain normalcy amid the conflict.
This approach further jeopardizes access to medical care and vital resources, which are crucial for survival during wartime.
