Strikes on Russian Plants Slash Missile Output: General Reveals Critical Numbers.
How Attacks on Russia’s Military-Industrial Complex Are Reshaping the War
According to UATV: Ukrainian Army General Nicolai Malomuzh has stated that strikes on Russian military-industrial complex (MIC) facilities that produce missiles are significantly degrading Russia’s military potential and reducing the intensity of shelling against Ukraine. According to Malomuzh, it is now critical to destroy the enemy’s core production capabilities, as virtually every missile—ballistic, cruise, or otherwise—that lands on Ukraine is being manufactured in real time, within days of launch.
Currently, Russia’s supply of electronic components is constrained by approximately 40%. Previously, Russia produced around 100 ballistic missiles per month; that figure has now dropped to roughly 40. The presence of three major factories in Russia that manufacture electronic circuit boards also heavily impacts the capabilities of the Russian MIC. One of these plants, located in the Rostov region, has been nearly destroyed, further complicating the situation.
Effectiveness of Attacks on Production Capacity
Malomuzh reported that in March, 89.9% of Russian missiles and drones were destroyed or neutralized, underscoring the effectiveness of strikes on the adversary’s production infrastructure. He noted that a shortage of high-precision equipment and electronics—including circuit boards and chips—has become critical for Russia.
'We have repeatedly said that destroying foundational enterprises would practically deprive the enemy of the ability to launch strikes—and now this is being confirmed in practice.'Nicolai Malomuzh
The general also emphasized the importance of hitting facilities where finished products are stored, as well as logistics hubs and missile deployment centers. 'This systematic approach to destroying such targets can effectively zero out Russia’s strike potential,' Malomuzh added. He stressed that this could neutralize up to 90% of Russia’s offensive capabilities, a crucial factor in the war.
According to General Malomuzh, destroying the production capacities of Russia’s military-industrial complex is of critical importance in reducing the threat from Russia. The ongoing shortage of component supplies and the decline in missile production demonstrate that Ukrainian strikes are capable of influencing the course of the conflict. This highlights the importance of a strategic approach to dismantling the enemy’s military potential, which could substantially shift the dynamics on the front lines.
