Hungary clears the path: Ukraine and Moldova to launch first EU negotiation cluster on June 15.
Official launch of the 'Fundamentals' negotiation cluster
According to Espreso.tv: On June 15, Ukraine and Moldova are set to officially open their first negotiation cluster, titled 'Fundamentals.' This milestone was made possible by Hungary’s constructive stance during preparations for the next phase of European integration. Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar emphasized that a comprehensive agreement had been reached between Kyiv and Budapest, paving the way for this progress.
EU Council meeting and preparatory work
Following the cluster’s launch, a meeting of the EU General Affairs Council will take place. As part of this process, two separate intergovernmental conferences are scheduled. A key element of the preparations involved the engagement of specialized working groups and permanent representatives of EU member states, underscoring the seriousness of the collaborative effort.
Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine’s representative, expressed gratitude for Hungary’s support, stating:

He added, “We are opening a new chapter in relations between Ukraine and Hungary—a chapter built on mutual respect, trust, and our shared European future.” These words highlight the significance of this stage in bilateral relations.
