According to FREEДOM:
Cooperation between Ukraine and Australia
Kyiv plans to exchange experience in drone production and usage with Australia. A delegation headed by Brigadier General Grant Chambers, head of the Joint Forces Development, has arrived in Ukraine. Our country has also signed agreements with several partners for financing and expanding drone production. Journalists from FREEДОМ reported on how, under wartime conditions, Ukraine strengthens its military-industrial complex.
Cooperation with Lithuania
Kyiv and Vilnius have agreed on joint production of defense products to enhance security. The ministers of defense of Ukraine and Lithuania, Denys Shmyhal and Dovilė Šakalienė, signed the relevant memorandum, which opens new opportunities for launching enterprises, developing Ukrainian companies in Lithuania, and exchanging technologies, particularly in the field of long-range drones.
“It is important that Lithuania will continue to allocate 0.25% of its GDP for military assistance to Ukraine until 2027. This is a strong signal of long-term support for our warriors. We are focused on attracting additional funding for the procurement of weapons and the development of Ukrainian industry. Thank you to Lithuania for its systematic and unwavering support for Ukraine on the path to victory,” said the Minister of Defense.
Canada's Initiatives
Canada also intends to join the joint production of drones with Ukraine. This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during his visit to Kyiv. Preparations for the establishment of capacities for drone production to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already been initiated in the country, with part of the funds from the 2 billion dollars that Canada is transferring to Ukraine under G7 agreements allocated for this initiative.
“We will allocate over 200 million dollars for joint production of defense materials in our two countries, particularly modern unmanned aerial vehicles, with the involvement of Canadian suppliers,” said Carney.
Cooperation with Australia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that there are clear agreements and an action plan for implementing the security agreement between the countries. An agreement on administrative assistance in customs issues and a contract for drone production have also been signed.
“An agreement on administrative assistance in customs matters was also signed at the level of our ministers and an agreement on drone production,” the president explained.
Partnership with Norway
Norway is ready to assist in the development of Ukrainian drone production, noted the Prime Minister of the country, Jonas Gahr Støre, during his visit to Kyiv. Earlier, Denys Shmyhal reported that Oslo allocated 400 million dollars for the procurement of Ukrainian drones.
“Norway is a participant in the drone coalition and we are investing in the Ukrainian industry. We will use this visit to make progress in this direction and to manufacture such weapons as efficiently as possible,” the Norwegian Prime Minister noted.
In 2025-2026, Oslo plans to allocate about 8.5 billion dollars to support Kyiv under the “Nansen” program, which is set for the period from 2023 to 2027.
“I asked the Prime Minister to consider directing the funds that remained this year under the Nansen program precisely for drones. This will be very significant. And the more of our drones there are for both defensive positions and long-range strikes, the more serious the pressure on Russia for peace will be,” Zelensky stated.
The president also thanked Norway for the supply of the NASAMS air defense systems and expressed hope for joint production of air defense systems. Oslo and Berlin announced the allocation of 700 million dollars for the procurement of air defense systems for Ukraine.
active cooperation with foreign partners highlights the importance of developing modern technologies in Ukraine's defense sector. Thanks to the agreements signed and joint initiatives, the country is taking steps to strengthen its security and support its defense capability in wartime conditions. Expanding drone production and establishing international connections are critically important for supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and ensuring economic growth in this sector.Read also
