Ukraine did not inform the West about the Kursk operation before the start of active actions - Media.
Ukraine surprised the West with plans for an operation in the Kursk region, which allies were unaware of until the actions of the defenders became evident. Bloomberg reports this, citing a source in Western intelligence. Initial information came only from Russia through officials, the military, and social media, making it difficult to verify. The Kyiv government lacked specific details of the situation at the time.
Currently, the operation in the Kursk region is of a large-scale and well-planned nature. However, allies only reacted to this campaign now. Few partners noted what was happening until last week, when the European Commission stated that Ukraine has the legal right to act on Russian territory.
"Ukraine wants actions in Kursk and decisions on the battlefield to be independent of Western sponsors," the media emphasizes. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin traditionally sees a "Western trace" in what is happening in his border zone, the source reports.
