EBRD Funding for Ukraine's Energy Sector
According to UATV: The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide Ukraine with an €85 million grant for purchasing additional natural gas volumes. This funding, announced on January 27, is intended to bolster the country's energy stability. The grant comes as Ukraine continues to navigate a severe energy crisis exacerbated by the ongoing war and economic pressures.
Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized the critical importance of this EBRD financial support for the state-owned companies 'Ukrenergo' and 'Ukrhydroenergo'. He stated that this assistance is urgently needed under current circumstances.
