On Thursday, February 6, the first French Mirage 2000 aircraft arrived in Ukraine, announced French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu on social media Twitter.
'On June 6, 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the supply of French Mirage 2000 to Ukraine. They will now participate in the defense of Ukrainian skies,' he wrote.
The minister noted that the aircraft arrived with Ukrainian pilots on board, who had undergone extensive training in France.
It is worth noting that the Mirage-2000 is a multi-role fighter jet produced in France with a low-mounted triangular wing. It was developed by Dassault Aviation in the 1970s and is the main fighter jet of the French air force.
