This was stated by the deputy director of the 'Institute of Agricultural Economics'
Mykola Puhachov.
More details about grain exports
According to Mykola Puhachov, the share of agricultural product exports in the total exports of the country over the half-year is at 57%. Mainly, Ukrainian agricultural products are sold in three markets:
- in the countries of the European Union;
- in Asia;
- in Africa.
Their total share amounted to 92% of the value of Ukrainian agricultural product exports. It should also be noted that in the 2023—2024 marketing year (MY), the revenue of grain product exporters, as evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, amounted to $10.76 billion.
Which countries buy Ukrainian products
The largest volumes are purchased by:
- Turkey — this country received agricultural products worth $1.445 billion — about 13% of the geographical structure of agro-export;
- Spain — the share is 8%.
Algeria has also paid nearly $300 million for agricultural products from Ukraine. The main groups in the structure of agro-exports are:
- grain crops;
- oils and fats;
- oilseeds;
- residues and waste from the food industry;
- meat and offal.
According to Puhachov, together this product accounted for 84% of Ukraine's agricultural exports to world markets in monetary terms.
It is worth noting that Poland's logistics sector found itself on the brink of crisis since the transit of Ukrainian grain stopped. The business is no longer averse to at least minimal volumes of grain crops being imported into the country. Also, find out what the purchase prices for Ukrainian wheat are.
Summary: Ukraine recorded a 9% decrease in agricultural product exports from January to June 2025 compared to the previous period. The largest volumes are purchased by the countries of the European Union, Asia, and Africa. Turkey and Spain are currently the main buyers of Ukrainian agricultural products.Read also
