Ukraine and the EU extended the transport visa-free regime: what the agreement means until 2027.
According to inkorr.com: Ukraine and the European Union have reached an agreement to extend the 'transport visa-free regime'. This was reported by the press service of the ministry, citing information from 'Hvylya'.
Agreement on Liberating Freight Transport
The Ministry of Development of Ukraine and the European Commission agreed to extend the agreement for another 15 months. Thus, the 'transport visa-free regime' will remain in effect until March 2027. This will allow Ukrainian and European carriers to conduct bilateral and transit transportation without special permits.
During the period of the agreement, the share of trade between Ukraine and the EU by road has increased by almost 55%, which has positively impacted the economies of both countries, emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.
The extension of the agreement does not entail new requirements. Carriers are required to comply with existing liberalization norms, such as truck labeling, possessing licenses, and documents for cargo. It is also noted that starting from July 1, 2026, all new freight vehicles registered in Ukraine must be equipped with digital smart tachographs.
We also remind that new rules for entering and staying in European Union countries have been explained to Ukrainians.
The extension of the 'transport visa-free regime' between Ukraine and the European Union is a significant step in improving and simplifying freight transport, contributing to the development of trade and economic ties between the two parties.
