Russian Military Launches Large-Scale Drone Attack on Ukraine

According to UATV: On June 8, the Russian army targeted Ukraine with a wave of 155 unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol models, as well as decoy drones of the Parody type. The assault originated from multiple launch points: Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, along with Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Preliminary reports indicate that Ukraine's air defense forces successfully intercepted or neutralized 124 of the hostile drones. The defense effort involved aviation units, surface-to-air missile forces, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's Defense Forces.

Strike on Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility Reported

Separately, on June 7 at 2:10 AM, a Russian drone hit the Central Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility near Buryakivka in the Kyiv region. This incident highlights the growing risks posed by unmanned aircraft to Ukraine's security infrastructure.

This attack underscores the ongoing escalation of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the mounting challenges faced by the country's air defense systems.

The sheer number of drones deployed suggests that Russia is continuously refining its wartime strategies, leveraging cutting-edge technology to pursue military objectives. The strike on a nuclear fuel storage site raises alarms about potentially catastrophic consequences if such assaults persist, threatening not only military assets but also civilian infrastructure and public safety across Ukraine.
