Zelensky on Peace with Russia: Putin Gives No Real Signals.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is confident that Russian leader Putin has no intention of ending the war against Ukraine and gives no real signals for peace.
Lack of Signs of Peace
This opinion was expressed by the president during an interview with Fox News. In response to a question about the possibility of peace amid the intensification of attacks on Kyiv at the end of the year, Zelensky emphasized that he does not see such signs.
Comments on Putin
The head of state noted that Putin does not talk about peace. On the contrary, he states his readiness to continue the offensive, which, according to Zelensky, does not indicate peaceful intentions.
Zelensky also emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts and increased pressure on Russia from the USA, including sanctions and other means of influence, which, he said, are at the disposal of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Distrust of Russia
The president stressed that, despite positive comments from Trump regarding communication with Putin, it is impossible to trust the Russian leader. He highlighted that Putin is not interested in the welfare of Ukraine and may express attractive intentions during conversations with the American president, but this does not reflect reality.
Comment on Energy Proposals
In addition, Zelensky commented on the statements about possible 'cheap energy' from Russia, noting that Ukraine does not need this, as a heavy price has already been paid for such proposals — in human lives. He emphasized that such statements are merely a way for Putin to communicate with Trump and have no value for Ukraine.
It was previously reported that U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Russia allegedly 'wants to see Ukraine successful.'
It was also reported that Trump commented on Kremlin accusations that allegedly Ukraine had carried out a drone attack on Putin's residence.
This statement by Zelensky emphasizes the deep disdain for Russian intentions and indicates that Ukraine remains resolute in its position regarding the conflict. Persistent efforts for diplomacy and international pressure demonstrate Ukraine's readiness to continue fighting for its interests on the world stage. Given past similar situations, it is important for the international community to stay on Ukraine's side during these difficult times.
