Ukraine has proposed a new approach to introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation, which involves supplementing existing restrictions instead of creating new large packages of sanctions. This was announced by Vladislav Vlasuk, the president's representative for sanctions policy.
'We have a small European coalition of countries that are more hawkish on sanctions. These are the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, sometimes Germany, Poland, the Baltic states, and others. We are promoting this idea with them,' Vlasuk stated.
According to him, this approach involves adding 10-20 new items to the existing sanction lists, without waiting for the creation of a large package. 'This is just an addition to the sanction lists for companies and individuals,' explained the representative for sanctions policy.
This idea is currently being actively discussed, and restrictions may be introduced regarding tankers transporting energy resources as well as transport organizations.
'Our goal is to encourage all partners to replenish or expand the sanctions lists as soon as possible,' emphasized Vlasuk.
