Ukraine Cuts Weapon Export Approval Time by Two-Thirds with New Fast Track for Drone Deal.
Fast Track Initiative Accelerates Ukraine's Weapon Exports
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has introduced a Fast Track procedure for weapon exports under the Drone Deal program, slashing the review period for export applications from 90 days down to just 30. This move is designed to streamline the export of Ukrainian arms and attract new international partners. To date, six agreements have been signed, each lasting ten years.
Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, stated: 'To ensure everything works quickly and smoothly, we have adopted the Fast Track resolution for the Drone Deal. The review period for export applications is being reduced from 90 to 30 days for goods not on the critical products list.'
The decision aims not only to speed up procedures but also to provide expert security assistance and facilitate the export of battle-tested solutions.
Collaboration Model and Localized Production
Furthermore, under the new cooperation framework, Ukraine plans to localize production in partner countries through the Build with Ukraine and Build in Ukraine formats. Special projects are also envisioned in areas such as cyber cooperation, critical infrastructure protection, and satellite initiatives. Over twenty countries are currently working to join this model, reflecting growing interest in Ukrainian weapons and technology.
The implementation of Fast Track represents a significant step for the development of Ukraine's defense industry and the strengthening of international security ties. Reducing the export application review period could substantially boost the competitiveness of Ukrainian manufacturers on the global market, while also supporting Ukraine's integration into worldwide defense networks. This could have a positive impact on overall regional security, especially given current challenges and threats.
