Ukraine won its first victory at the Futsal World Cup.
The Ukrainian futsal team won its first victory at the Futsal World Cup. In the second round, the Ukrainians defeated the Angola team 7:2.
Ukraine started the 2024 World Cup with a crushing defeat by Argentina (1:7). And was in last place in the standings of group C after the first round: Angola also started the Mundial with a loss, but lost with a smaller goal difference to Afghanistan (4:6).
The Ukrainians opened the score in the seventh minute of the game. The "blue-yellow" earned a penalty, which was realized by Yevhen Zhuk.
Ukraine finished the first half with a two-goal advantage over Angola. Ihor Korsun scored twice, after which the Angolans reduced the score through the efforts of Elber.
After the break, Ukraine scored twice more in the starting 10 minutes. After Angola failed to capitalize on a chance to reduce the score, Andriy Melnyk immediately scored. And less than two minutes later, Mykhailo Zvarych scored the fifth goal.
In the 32nd minute, Ukraine made the score 6:1 through the efforts of Ihor Cherniavskyi. The Angolans managed to fight back in the last minute of the meeting through the efforts of Vedu, but seven seconds before the end, Nazar Shved established the final score - 7:2.

The decisive match in the group stage will be played by Ukraine against Afghanistan on Saturday, September 21. A victory in this match will take the "blue-yellows" to the playoffs of the World Cup.
