In the summer period, electricity outages are possible in Ukraine due to the high load on the energy network. According to the views expressed by Victoria Voititska, the director of advocacy in the energy sector, peak electricity consumption increases on very hot days to such an extent that there is a risk of the need to limit electricity supply. It is worth noting that in the summer months, routine maintenance of nuclear power plants is traditionally conducted, which can lead to a shortage of generating capacity caused by the temporary decommissioning of individual energy blocks.Experts also emphasize that in the event of attacks by Russia on the energy infrastructure, the risk of outages may significantly increase. The DTEK company does not foresee planned outages for the summer, but the situation may change rapidly depending on the security situation in the country.
