Ukrainians were shown how water tariffs differ in different cities: changes from November 1.

Most Ukrainians will continue to pay for water at the tariffs set at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. However, residents of small communities may face increased water supply service costs.

According to information from the Ministry of Finance and the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NCSREU), tariffs for centralized water supply and sewerage for the population of large cities remain unchanged since February 24, 2022. The attempt to increase them by 20-30% in July 2023 was canceled after the intervention of the president and government.

The tariff system is divided into two categories of consumers. The first category includes residents of private sectors and collective consumers without economic activity in the field of water supply. The second category covers residents of multi-apartment buildings who receive services through in-house systems.

In small communities, where approval from the NCSREU is not required, local authorities independently regulate tariffs. A striking example is the two cities in the Cherkasy region. In Kanev, starting November 1, the tariff will increase by 10 UAH, amounting to 73.50 UAH for centralized water supply and sewerage services. Meanwhile, in Smila, after two increases since the beginning of the war, the tariff reached 80.34 UAH.
