Third Gas Bill Coming for Ukrainians: What Extra Costs to Expect in April.
New Fees for Gas Network Maintenance
According to Novyny.live: Starting in April 2026, households in Ukraine will receive an additional invoice for gas network maintenance services. The amount charged will vary based on the number of apartments in a building and the condition of its gas pipelines. This change applies to customers of 'Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine' LLC, who will now see a third bill alongside their usual payments for natural gas supply and delivery.
Under the Law of Ukraine 'On Housing and Communal Services,' expenses for repairing and maintaining gas infrastructure are not covered by fuel delivery fees. In 2026, the cost for inspecting gas networks will range from 120 UAH to 1,000 UAH, depending on the specific conditions in each building.
Natural Gas Prices and Payment Updates
Meanwhile, the price of natural gas for residential customers of Naftogaz will remain steady at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter in April 2026. It is important to note that gas tariffs cannot be changed during martial law, ensuring price stability for this fuel throughout the emergency period.
Naftogaz clients should also be aware of updated payment details for their gas bills. Adhering to these new requirements is essential to avoid any payment issues.
As a result, Ukrainians can expect new financial obligations this spring related to gas network maintenance, alongside continued stability in natural gas prices.
This new policy on gas network maintenance could significantly impact household budgets, as the extra costs may catch many consumers off guard. While stable natural gas prices help ease the financial burden, the additional maintenance fees might offset some of that relief. It is crucial for consumers to stay informed about changes in payment details and follow the updated procedures to prevent any financial complications.
