Ukrainians warned about issues at the border with Moldova: checkpoints non-operational.
The operation of checkpoints at the border with Moldova temporarily halted
A representative of the State Border Service, Andriy Demchenko, reported that checkpoints at the border with Moldova are temporarily non-operational. Crossing operations are currently not being conducted on the Transnistrian segment of the border.
"Speaking about the border with Moldova, the checkpoints are not functioning, and crossing operations are not being conducted temporarily on the Transnistrian segment," Demchenko stated.
Demchenko also noted that the passenger flow at borders has significantly decreased compared to the summer period. In the last 24 hours, passenger flow was 80 thousand people in both directions, split 50/50. However, on weekends this figure may increase to 100-105 thousand people per day.
Demchenko mentioned that border guards daily detain dozens of people attempting to illegally cross the border. Most incidents involve detentions outside checkpoints, on the green section of the border.
However, the spokesperson noted that this situation is gradually changing and the number of illegal border crossings is decreasing. Given the worsening weather conditions and the approach of winter, further reduction of this phenomenon is expected.
As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia will change prices for some services from December 1.
