According to Espreso.tv: A 57-year-old Ukrainian national has been formally charged in Ukraine for transporting illegally caught fish and treating it cruelly. Polish police had previously arrested the man, stating that his continued presence in Poland 'poses a threat to public order.'
Catfish Catch and Legal Consequences
According to reports, the Ukrainian man caught a catfish measuring 183 centimeters and weighing approximately 40 kilograms from Lake Balaton in Warsaw on May 30. The fishing took place during a closed season that runs from January 1 to May 31. He now faces up to three years in prison. The fish he caught had been living in the lake for about 20 years. After his arrest, the man was handed over to Ukrainian border guards.
