Ukrainian cyclist Yulia Biryukova took 27th place at the 2024 Olympic Games
Today, Ukrainian cyclist Yulia Biryukova participated in the medal road race with a separate start at the 2024 Olympic Games, where she took 27th place.
Due to rain and slippery roads, some participants of the race couldn't handle their bikes and fell. The same happened to Biryukova: the athlete injured her elbow and possibly received other injuries.
It's very wet, I fell. Today was really not my day. A little upset because the wheels did not hold at all on the turns. I had to take the turns slowly, plus lost a lot due to the fall. It's quite hard, everything is bruised, everything hurts
For reference, this Olympics is the debut for the 26-year-old Biryukova in her career. On August 4, she will participate in the group race of the Games in Paris.
