Ukrainian Drones Strike Taganrog: Iskander Launcher and Oil Tanker Destroyed.
Strikes on Russian Assets
According to Espreso.tv: Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi reported attacks on Russian targets, including an oil tanker and fuel depots. These strikes resulted in the destruction of 23 assets located deep behind Russian military lines. Among the targets were:
- a launch position for the Iskander operational-tactical missile system on the outskirts of Taganrog,
- a maritime oil terminal in Feodosia.
Additionally, during the night of May 15, a Be-200 amphibious aircraft and a Ka-27 helicopter were destroyed in Russia's Krasnodar Krai region. Robert Brovdi commented:
'A courtesy visit to Taganrog was carried out by the Birds of the 1st Special Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces. The result was not limited to the list of targets above—something also caught fire in the water.'
Escalation of Operations
The attack also struck an oil tanker and the 'Kurgannefteprodukt' facility in Taganrog. These actions highlight a surge in operations aimed at weakening Russian military capabilities. For an English-speaking audience, this reflects Ukraine's ongoing strategy to degrade key logistics and strike systems that Moscow relies on for its war effort.
The operations carried out by Ukrainian forces demonstrate a strategic approach to destroying infrastructure that supports the Russian army. Eliminating critical military assets, such as missile system launch positions, can significantly impact Russia's combat effectiveness. These events underscore the continuation of the conflict and Ukraine's determination to respond aggressively to aggression.
