Ukrainian para-judoists won a full set of awards at the European Championship.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian para-judoists showcased impressive results at the European Judo Championship for visually impaired athletes, held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Our team won a complete set of medals, which surprised many fans.
Achievements of Ukrainian para-judoists
The Ukrainian team, which consisted of seven athletes, won three medals:
“Gold”: Anastasia Harnyk (over 70 kg category, J1 class – totally blind).“Silver”: Anzhela Havrysyuk (up to 60 kg category, J1 class).“Bronze”: Dmytro Solovey (up to 81 kg category, J2 class – visually impaired).
Success at the European Youth Olympic Festival
In addition, Ukraine demonstrated impressive results at the European Youth Olympic Festival, placing 10th in the overall medal standings. Our athletes earned 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, which became one of the most successful results in Ukraine's history of participation in these competitions since 1993. Judo turned out to be the most successful sport, as our athletes won six awards, including bronze in the mixed team tournament.
These achievements highlight the high level of training and perseverance of our athletes, who, despite challenges, demonstrate true sporting spirit and will to win. Para-judo will continue to be an important component of Ukrainian sport, as the journey covered indicates great prospects for the future.
