Ukrainian Soldiers Set for Salary Hike to 30,150 Hryvnias: Payment Start Date Revealed.
Military Pay Raise on the Horizon
According to Novyny.live: Starting in June 2026, Ukrainian service members could see their base salary rise to 30,150 hryvnias. Parliament is expected to review the necessary budget amendments as early as this week. This increase is part of the government's broader effort to improve financial support for the armed forces.
To implement the minimum salary boost to 30,150 hryvnias, approximately 120 billion hryvnias per year will be required. Additionally, the Verkhovna Rada plans to allocate another 174 billion hryvnias for defense needs. This means the funds for the military pay raise will be covered under the overall defense budget framework.
Proposal for Wage Increase
The proposal to raise military salaries was put forward by Mykhailo Fedorov. He stated that:
“The proposal was to increase military salaries to at least 30,150 hryvnias starting June 1. In other words, from this month onward, soldiers will receive 30,000 hryvnias. The necessary funds have already been allocated.” - Ruslan Horbenko
If the relevant amendments are approved, the additional funding for military support will mark a significant step toward ensuring their financial well-being.
Raising military pay is a key aspect of state policy aimed at bolstering national defense and improving living conditions for soldiers. Amid the ongoing conflict and rising defense expenditures, this decision could play a vital role in boosting troop morale and readiness. Should the vote succeed in parliament, the changes will underscore the government's commitment to social support for military personnel.
