Ukrainian Defense Forces Target Enemy Infrastructure

According to UATV: In a series of strikes, Ukrainian forces have hit key Russian military facilities both within Russia and in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. These operations, which included attacks on February 18, 2023, specifically targeted installations linked to the aggressor's military units. Such long-range strikes have become a significant component of Ukraine's defensive strategy since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

Specific Targets Destroyed

In the Zaporizhzhia region, strikes were confirmed in the area of Trudove, where a unit of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was destroyed, and near Tokmak, where a UAV workshop was hit. In the Donetsk region, a communications hub was eliminated in the Staromlynivka district, and a concentration of military equipment was identified and destroyed in Donetsk.

Furthermore, on February 17, 2023, a launch unit of an S-300VM anti-aircraft missile system was struck near Mariupol. Additional strikes hit UAV control points in Russia's Kursk region and in the Rodynske area of temporarily occupied Donetsk. According to data released by the Defense Forces, 740 Russian personnel were eliminated over the past day. The operations also resulted in the destruction of:

  • 194 units of automotive equipment
  • 1,851 drones
  • 20 artillery systems
  • one air defense system

These strikes form part of Ukraine's strategic efforts to degrade Russian military infrastructure and reduce its combat capabilities. The destruction of assets like drones and air defense systems directly impacts the enemy's ability to conduct effective operations. The intensification of such actions by the Defense Forces indicates escalating combat activity in the region, which may lead to further developments and shifts in the tactical situation on the front line.
