According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian athlete Nazar Chepurnyi won a bronze medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, becoming the only medalist from Ukraine in this competition. Despite an injury, he delivered an impressive performance.

Performance on the vault

In his main discipline — the vault — Chepurnyi achieved significant success, defending his bronze medal title with a score of 14.483 points.

“Not that I didn't expect it - I thought I wouldn’t even make it to the finals. I don’t know, for some reason I felt that way. Due to the overall mood of the preparation, that everything went off plan - I honestly didn't believe there could be any result. But, based on the situation, I had to do my job, and thank God it was enough.”

Winners and competition news

In the overall standings, the champion was Carlos Yulo, with Arthur Davtyan taking second place. Chepurnyi also emphasized that he gained a lot of new experience at this competition and is ready for future challenges. Additionally, the International Ski Federation has decided not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to qualify for the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan.

This competition was significant for Ukrainian gymnastics, as Chepurnyi's bronze medal highlights his talent and perseverance despite hardships. The position of the international community regarding the participation of athletes from aggressor countries is also important, demonstrating solidarity in supporting fair competition and justice in sports.
