Ukrainian Channel 'Dim' Now Included in All Moldtelecom Packages — What This Means for Viewers.
Moldtelecom Partnership Expands
According to UATV: The state-owned enterprise 'Multimedia Platform for External Broadcasting of Ukraine' has broadened its collaboration with Moldova's leading telecom provider, Moldtelecom. As a result, the Ukrainian channel 'Dim' is now available across all of the operator's television packages, significantly increasing its reach among audiences in Moldova.
Ways to Watch 'Dim'
In addition to Moldtelecom, viewers can access 'Dim' via the HOTBIRD-13G satellite and various international OTT platforms. This wide availability is especially crucial for the approximately 140,000 Ukrainian refugees living in Moldova, who make up around 4-5% of the country's total population. For this community, having reliable access to Ukrainian media helps maintain cultural ties and provides essential information.
Moldtelecom, one of Moldova's foremost telecommunications firms, operates the Moldtelecom TV service, which comes with interactive features such as:
- pause functionality
- program recording
- on-demand content
- parental controls
Its companion app, Moldtelecom TV GO, lets users stream channels from anywhere in Moldova. This portability is particularly beneficial for Ukrainian refugees, enabling them to stay connected to their native culture and news while on the move.
This initiative underscores the role of media in delivering informational support to Ukrainians abroad, while also strengthening cultural bonds between Ukraine and Moldova.
The expanded partnership between the Multimedia Platform and Moldtelecom marks a meaningful step in supporting the Ukrainian community in Moldova. It helps refugees integrate into their new environment while preserving a link to their homeland. Given the large number of displaced Ukrainians in the country, improved access to Ukrainian media can ease their adaptation and provide critical information during challenging times. The move also highlights the growing media and communications cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova.
