Ukrainian Maritime Corridor: Over 150 million tons of cargo during the war.
According to inkorr.com: The maritime corridor of Ukraine continues to operate even amidst the war, - reported Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba. Thanks to this corridor, over 150 million tons of cargo have already been transported, of which 90 million tons of grain have been delivered to 55 countries.
“Everyone working in the Ukrainian maritime corridor is on an important mission to maintain logistics during the war. This helps the country continue to develop its economy and supply products to the international market,”emphasized Oleksii Kuleba.
Shelters in ports and infrastructure improvements
The Minister also noted that 30 stationary shelters have already been reinforced in the ports and 21 mobile protective structures have been installed in the ports of Greater Odesa. By the end of the year, it is planned to equip 28 more shelters. Additionally, the construction of dozens of storage facilities in the ports is ongoing to ensure safe working conditions for employees even during emergencies.
Improving logistics capabilities
As a result of reviewing transport connections where repair work is underway, it is planned to improve freight transport capacity by more than 20%. This will help reduce queues, increase logistics efficiency, and ensure export stability.
Thus, the Ukrainian maritime corridor actively functions during the war, and the development and growth of seaports contribute to enhancing security and improving working conditions in the transport and logistics sector. Strengthening infrastructure and shelters is an important step to support the economy under these challenging conditions.
